  4. The gals eat the heads of their mates, which is gross. I have to admit they eat a lot of bugs, though. I'm not surprised they'd take on a hummingbird. Some of these critters are quite large.

  5. oMD Praying Mantis EAT HUMMINGBIRDS????? We did NOT know THAT.
    One summer we had a MALE Mantis that lived on our picnic Table.... he liked to be touched... he would walk around on mom and dad's supper plates...

  7. I never heard of them eating hummingbirds, but they also eat a TON of the bad bugs in the garden. You're lucky to have one in your yard.
