Thursday in the Garden

The Evergreen Wisteria Mommy got at the Herb and Garden Fest is doing good. We can't wait for it to get big and cover the post.

Our roses are blooming.

The Clematis are putting on a nice show.

Cape Honeysuckle.

OK, this is one of those plants that have a name that people get confused with another plant. We call it Butterfly Flower because the blooms look like blue butterflies. But here is what other people call it. Butterfly Bush, Oxford Bush, Cambridge Bush 'Ugandense'. It's Latin name is Rotheca myricoides.  We love it because it blooms all year.

Trailing Princess with a succulent

Purple Queen.

This is a native plant Coral Bean, it blooms in the Spring and has seed pods that look like beans.

Red Cestrum Cestrum newellii looks sort of similar. It blooms all year. We bought some more this year and tried planting it in the flower bed. We will see how it does.

This is one of our favorite roses, not only is it a purrty  deep red color is has a wonderful fragrance.

But MOL it is also the rosebush that attacked Scylla's tail. For those of you who have just meet us you can read about how Scylla almost lost her tail to the rosebush here.

We took some overall shoots of our view from the Hummingbird Cottage.

And of course we had to get one of the Sky Flower. ~ATCAD

We are very sorry we don't know it's name. Grandpa calls it the Dead Rose, cause the lady that gave it to him said her husband had killed it (the husband severely pruned her rose bushes). Grandpa got a bush for us and one for him.
