Bookstore Cats & Stray Dog Sunday

Well even though there isn't a single solitary picture of me I am doing the post after all it is Scylla Sunday. This CREATURE showed up at our door wanting in. He was all wet and muddy so even Mommy who has feathers for brains said NO. She did risk life and limb by going outside to see if his collar had any info on it. Turns out he was a friendly fellow so she didn't lose any limbs and his collar did have a phone number on it. A friend of his owners came collected him, he doesn't live far from us.

Mommy and Tammy ditched the dogs a couple of Thursdays ago and went to a used bookstore. Mommy didn't find any books she wanted, but she did find cats.

She was very sad to learn the bookstore was moving and the cats are losing their homes. We has our paws crossed they found a new domicile.

Apparently some of the customers complained about the cats, so the owner wasn't taking them to her new place. Mommy was very disappointed. She agrees with us that cats belong in bookstores.

I decided to feature Yang in the selfie this week. I picked a fish theme for him. It seemed like something a boy cat would like. ~Scylla, reporting for ATCAD

PeeS: Momma Kat and her kittens are still looking for a home, please see Courageous Momma Kat for more info.

What's WRONG with people?! Of COURSE cats belong in bookstores - I think the people who complained aren't real book lovers.

MY STRONG OPINION: That new bookstore ought to have THE CATS IN IT and to hell with the (very few, I'm sure) customers who do not like it. It's the owner's choice, NOT the customers.
So there!

Cats in a bookstore is a lovely idea. I wouldn't mind cuddling up with a good book, either....

Cats are creatures that bring a good atmosphere into a room/store of reading so what is wrong with peeps? Hope they find a huge bookstore or library. Maybe that owner should bring them into her home if she can't have them in her business.

Maybe that doggy wanted to visit with Tuiren??

Nice selfie, Yang!

That doggie saw your welcome mat and knew you would help him find his way home. We sure hope those store cats find a good home. Maybe a local library could take them?

110% for cats in bookstores, and tell the customers that don't like it to take a hike.... Sorry I get mad at such nonsense. Lovely selfie this week for Yang, and the fish theme works really well. purrs ERin

How sad the customers couldn't be more understanding. I love my bookstore's cat. He's a big reason I go back!

You know, if you don't want cats in a book store - guess what! You can not go in!!! Too bad the book shop owners don't love the cats to keep them no matter what!
