Thankful Thursday

We are thankful our library does Inter Library Loans so we were able to read this wonderful book.

A Street Cat Named Bob: How One Man and His Cat Found Hope on the StreetsA Street Cat Named Bob: How One Man and His Cat Found Hope on the Streets by James Bowen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Very heartwarming, the tale of how Bob changed James' life for the better.

It also got us thinking. There are many cats and dogs that need homes, but many rescues make it really hard for people to adopt. On paper James doesn't look like the ideal pet parent, he was a recovering drug acted who made his income on the streets; first playing music and then by selling magazines. BUT he really stepped up for Bob, he made sure Bob got the veterinarian care he needed even when it literally took his last dime. He did his best to keep Bob safe and he always tried to put Bob first. So maybe people should be more willing to give other people a chance and less judgemental.

We will try to get Mommy to help us do a proper post tomorrow, in the spirit of being less judgemental we aren't going to criticize her for going gallivanting instead of helping us organize our pictures and post.  ~The cats & dogs of ATCAD

Sometimes kitties just happen into somebody's life and magical things happen, the way they did with Bob and James. My human loves this book too, and she's also seen the movie.

That is a wonderful book. I can't wait to see the movie, I heard Bob plays himself.

Loved those books. A friend gave them to me for Christmas or my birthday last year.

A great book to read! Thank you. Will look for it and yes, leaving judgements behind is a wonderful beginning of new friendships.

The rescues around here are really making things hard for prospective adoptees. It stinks.

Bob was a lucky kitty fur sure!
