Thursday in the Garden

Pineapple sage, we need to get some more we think most of ours died this winter.

Goldenrod

Roses and Cuphea with some Goldenrod in the background.

And now for a study of Butterfly, we are not kidding Mommy took lots of pictures of it.

We are thankful for our lovely garden and all the critters that come to visit it, especially the butterflies. ~ATCAD

We have some pineapple sage in our patio pots, it gets really big and late in the summer when it blooms, the hummingbirds love it. Alas it is only an annual here.

That is a pretty butterfly!

Any idea what type of butterfly that is? I've planted some native Michigan plants, in the hopes that they attract bees, birds, butterflies and bats!

Lovely flowers in your garden kitties and that butterfly is so beautiful. We don't have these kinds of butterflies in our Country, unfortunately... Pawkisses for a Happy Day :) <3

Nice Gulf Fritillary. I had to ask my hubby , the butterfly expert what it was :) Great photos.

We have that same butterfly here! Do you know its name? We think it is a Frittilary (too lazy to search through our butterfly book).

We had some cultivated goldenrod for about 5 years, but they died out. Maybe the cultivated kind are shorter-lived. We plan to try them again though.
