About Us

Tsarina Tuesday by Artemisia with Scylla & Socks

We are all WET. Water started leaking from the sky. I really wish the beans would figure out a way to fix it. It can leak all it wants when I am inside but I would prefer it not to leak when I am outside.
At least it is nice and cozy in Eldest Boy Beans bed. We can nap, groom and gossip with each other.

And I heard rumors we might get leftover TURKEY for supper. ~Artemisia

Moping on Monday

Do I look happy to you? Yeah all I have been hearing is I have to do laundry Fen, I have to mop the floor Fen, I have to cook Fenris. What about PLAYING with me????????

To top it off it has turned COLD, so when she isn't busy all the Mom wants to do is huddle under the electric blanket with the cats. It was hot here Thanksgiving and very humid, Mommy was actually wearing short sleeves and Daddy had on shorts. But the next day it rained and rained and rained and now it is COLD.  I do NOT approve of this. ~Fenris

Our Zinnias they are still blooming too.

What I want to Buy my Mom & Dad fur Christmas.

Frankie is hosting this Thanksgiving post. Go by his blog to find out what other furies want to get their parents for Christmas.

Well we woulds like to buy a cement floor for the greenhouse so Mommy wouldn't have to weed in there. We would also like to get her a cook, maid to clean the house, and gardner to do the weeding, planting and other stuffs. This would give her more time to play, pet and cuddle with us. Alas we do not think our allowance is big enough to buy these things (sigh). So we guesses we will just have to buy her some gourmet cheeses, maybe she will share them with us.

We thinks we will get Daddy a birdbath, then he can watch the birds with us. Not sure if he will put it in the Butterfly Garden or the Hummingbird Cottage. Maybe we can get him some hummingbird feeders for the Hummingbird Cottage too. We will also try to buy him some rocks so he won't have to spend all his time going to get them and lugging them home. If we had a bigger allowance we would fence in the entire yard for him, but apparently fencing cost lots of money and takes lots of work to put up (sigh). ~AFSS

Thanksgiving Gotcha / Adoption stories

Minna Krebs is hosting the Gotcha/Adoption Stories, so please paw over to her blog to read more heartwarming stories.

I use to live at Grandma & Grandpa's house. They have lots of cats because they refuse to get their cats spayed and neutered. I am distantly related to Socks, he used to live at Grandma's house too and all the cats there are descended from Socks' Mom Miss Kitty.  We all live outside, so I was very glad to come live here where I gets to live inside. ~Artemisia

My story is pretty much the same as Artemisia's. My human Mom's cousins wife got a cat ( my Mom aka Miss Kitty), she didn't have her spayed cause she was going to be an inside only cat and would never be around male cats. Well when she went into heat she drove them nuts so they let her outside and of course she got pg. They kept 2 of the boy kittens but they gave Miss Kitty and the rest of her kittens to Grandma & Grandpa. Technically I am youngest boy beans cat. ~Socks

Charybdis (Scylla's litter mate sister)

When we were 4 weeks old our Cat Mommy was poisoned and died. The nice people with MS Spay & Neuter Alliance had been trying to catch the feral cats that were pg so they would give birth in foster homes, but they didn't have a home for our Mom before she had us.  So they were waiting for her to bring us out so they could capture all of us. When they found her dead where they had been feeding her they went looking for her kittens and found 4 of us still alive. My Mommy & Daddy agreed to foster two of the kittens (another lady fostered the other two), so we came to live with them. They had to bottle feed us because we were so little and just beginning to eat on our own. Daddy said if he could name us Mommy could keep us so we became Scylla & Charybdis. ~Scylla
When I was 6 weeks old Mommy adopted me from the Bay St. Louis/Waveland Animal Shelter. I had been found with my littermates at Stennis Space Center in the woods. I am a Mutt, the lady at the shelter listed me as a Great Pyrenees mix but since nothing is known about either of my parents that was just a guess on her part. Mommy & Daddy love me anyway. ~Fenris

Together we are known as AFSS (Artemisa, Fenris, Socks, Scylla).

Simply Scylla

I am enjoying some sunbeams. For those of you who are wondering where The Butt is since this is normally Tsarina Tuesday she is outside playing and couldn't be bothered to pose for a post.

Farewell Aoise

We were just getting to know Aoise. Her name was  Irish and you pronounce it 'ee-sher'. It took us ever so long to remember how to pronounce her name correctly and we still aren't sure we got is purrfectly right. Mommy fell for her the first time we visited her blog, cause she looked a bit like Whiskers. The Irish name cinched it. Mommy's Great-Grandpa came from Ireland and she is interested in Irish stuff, especially names. So it is with heavy hearts we bid sweet Aoise farewell.

We are sharing this poem with you in Aoise's memory.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry—
I am not there... I did not die...

Mancat Monday ~ Socks

Well THE PEST is insufferable now that she has not ONE, not TWO, but THREE Boyfriends.

I had to listen to how divine Herman dances, and how romantic Prince Casper is, and how Cody took her to Breakfast at Phoenicia and she had Ham & Eggs with Asiago Grits and after she had wiped out everything on her plate Cody was a real gentleman and let her polish off his plate and blah, blah, blah. I thought she was never going to stop meowing and go to sleep.

Inigo has gone to the bridge

Read the tribute his Mom posted About a boy: "Inigo".

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Scylla Sunday

Technically I am not breaking any rules, I am NOT on the Kitchen Counter I am just on the bookcase in the Family Room. I like it here because I can watch Mommy cook.

I has to wash my paws before dinner.

I enjoy taking a nap after dinner.

I loves to sit in my Daddy's lap.

I love to sleep in Eldest Boy Bean's laundry.

I am dreaming of King Brian. Artemisia is having so much fun with all her boyfriends, going dancing, out to eat, and for a stroll in the Butterfly Garden it makes me wish Brian would ask me to do something. Maybe I should start playing the field hard to get ;>) what do you think? Yeah, you are right playing hard to get is probably too much work. I'll just go back to my dream nap.
