Wildlife Wednesday

Daddy needed a good picture for his website, so he asked Mommy to be his official photographer. They went to various locals in District 4 to take his picture. While they were at Fort Bayou Mommy saw these Pelicans.

Look the Pelican caught a fish.

There are some more water birds near the Pelican, but Mommy didn't know what they are. She thinks they are probably Seagulls but they were to far away for her to get a good look at them. She had to zoom the camera way out to get the Pelicans picture. she could not see the Pelican with just her eyes.

For some strange reason Mommy liked this graffiti.

Those are some pretty big birds. Bet they can scoop up lots of tasty fish.

Wow, they're fabulous birds! Did you know there has been a pelican stranded at a sanctuary in Nova Scotia (province here in Canada) for months? There was a hold up in trying to get him back to his home state--government or airline bureaucratic red tape. We think it's finally been sorted out now though!

We didn't know about the pelican stranded in Nova Scotia, boy was he a long way from home. Hope he is back home now.

We has another big bird to show you next week. He lives in our garden and he is a little bit scary. Mommy says he could eat us (OK, me) . ~Artemisia

If you snagged one of those pelicans you could eat birdy and fish at the SAME TIME!
