Wildlife Wednesday

This Woodpecker has a nest in the tree. I can almost reach the nest. Before I reaches it the woodpecker attacks me and chases me out of the tree. Mommy said I better be careful or he would peck my brains out. And don't listen to my Mommy I did NOT fall out of the tree. I made a magnificent tumbling roll to escape the woodpecker.  ~Artemisia

You are one very brave huntress, Artemisia, but we suggest you set your sights on a different birdie. Great photo.

That tumbling roll would have been impressive to see, we're sure!

Do take care, though...Mom birds protecting their young can be quite nasty, understandably so!

Peck your brains out?!! Too scary! Arty, we're ALL coming over to stalk that peckerbird! And bake a perckerbird pie.

Oh, and we liked how you stuck the landing on your Artful (get it?) tumble.

We have those pecky birdies too. They sure make a lot of noise! We (IZA and Marley) cant climb trees well, so we dont have ta do a deliberate tumble ta get away from them. Ayla could, but she hasta stays inside.
