I am going to tell you about my foster sister Melon Head today. Here she is on the picnic table with Whiskers.
She didn't stay with us long enough for me to get to know her. I am rather shy with new cats. Whiskers was the meet and greeter in the family.
Daddy found Melon Head in the middle of the road on his way to work. He stopped the truck in the middle of the road so hopefully no one would run over him and got out and she ran right to him. He brought her home during his lunch hour. Mommy gave her a bath cause she had grease on her. But they could tell right away she was a well cared for kitty.
She liked it here and she made herself right at home.
Daddy made posters of Melon Head and posted them around where he found her to try to find her person. Daddy had give up when a lady called and said "You found my Sadie". Mommy & Daddy were kinda sorry the lady called, they missed Melon Head after she went back home as they had gotten attached in the two weeks she lived here.
This is what they think happened. Melon Head (Sadie) was a housecat. Her person went to the store and had just got home and she thinks Sadie must have slipped out when she was bringing the groceries in and climbed up in the warm motor of the car. A neighbor needed a ride to work so the lady got in the car and drove the neighbor to work and when she got home Sadie was MISSING. Daddy must have been right behind the lady (Luckily) or Melon Head would have got run over. Since the lady didn't usually go that way, she didn't see the posters Daddy had put up along the route until the neighbor needed another ride to work. Daddy works a long way from where we live. Anyway after the lady called Daddy took Melon Head to work with him and meet the lady on the way. Daddy said she was very happy to see Melon Head.

Thanks for visiting everyone. Daddy named Melon Head and Mommy has no clue how he came up with the name. He just said she looked like a Melon Head to him. ~Socks
Always good to have a happy ending to a kitty story.
