Many parents were outraged Wednesday following an incident where nearly 30 Byram Middle School students were brought to a Jackson police precinct after a school bus disturbance. Parents waited nearly two hours, some panicking when their children had not come home from school Tuesday. "There were all types of things that went through my head," said Patrice Creel, the mother of a 12-year-old seventh-grader. "It was dark out. I didn't know if someone had picked him up or maybe there was an accident."
It must have been terrifying wondering where your children were. I do hope Mr. Bounds plans to scrutinize this incident and come up with stricter regulations to prevent this from occurring again. Certainly this should fall under the Mississippi Department of Educations jurisdiction.
