Thirteen Things about The Pet Food Recall

- Whiskers died March 9, 2007 of Kidney Failure after eating Special Kitty Pouch cat food.
- Menu foods knew there was something wrong with the food as early as February 20th, 2007 (maybe sooner).
- The contaminated pet food wasn't recalled until March 16th, 2007
- Petconnection.com reports: 3,057 pets deceased. Of these, 1,657 are cats, and 1,400 are dogs. ~ April 3, 2007
- The Last Meow was created so grieving pet lovers could share their pet's stories.

- March 30th, FDA says dry food may be contaminated.

- Pet Treats recalled (nothing is safe to feed our pets).
- FDA says human food that contains wheat gluten may also be contaiminated.
- FDA told CNN it is looking at whether there could have been a profit motive for deliberately introducing melamine into the wheat gluten. In other words, it might not have been an accident and may have been about money.
- I still miss Whiskers.

Thank you scooper. We adopted two 4 week old kittens who were orphaned. They are keeping me busy. But I still miss Whiskers so much, he was a very special cat.
