Former East Central High School teacher Jennifer Joel Wilder has been forever stripped of her teacher's license and placed on five years' probation, with a 15-year suspended sentence, meaning she will not spend a day in jail for having sex with a 16-year-old student in 2004.
Jackson County District Attorney Tony Lawrence said Wilder, now 36, was not sentenced to jail time for sexual battery during an April 10 plea hearing because of a request from the victim - just shy of his 17th birthday when he had sex with the teacher in 2004 - and his father.
