The federal government's response to education needs after Hurricane Katrina has been "grossly inadequate," according to a national education group.
The Southern Education Foundation released a report on the second anniversary of Katrina that said two years later, rebuilding of schools in Mississippi and Louisiana has been slow and thousands of students remain displaced.
The Upper Elementary that my eldest son attended for 4th & 5th grade and the Middle School my children would have attended if they had continued in public school was completely destroyed.
