Interestingly, at least to me, no one can ever again be born in the town of Campgaw, New Jersey -- it doesn't exist.Maybe it existed at the beginning of the 20th Century, but if it indeed was an actual town, it faded away or got folded into the town of Mahwah.There is a small ski hill named Campgaw and a Campgaw Road... but there's no such town called Campgaw, not anymore!
Thank you for sharing that interesting bit of trivia. I have been working on a Thursday Thirteen about Ocean Springs and I find it fascinating how the name changed over the years. Ocean Springs was actually Biloxi at one time.
