Mississippi taxpayers could wind up paying for school uniforms if they are not repealed

Language intended to clarify a state law designed to save low-income parents money has instead caused widespread confusion among school districts about who pays for school uniforms.

Education officials are hoping to fix it - fast.


If they don't, school districts may have to choose between ponying up thousands of dollars to clad students in school uniforms and taking Simpson County's short-term solution and repeal the uniform requirement.
