Bruce Connely doesn't know how to tell his 5-year-old son that a deputy shot and killed their German shepherd named Bear because the deputy thought a killer lived at their home.
Deputies had gone to Connely's home on Friartuck Avenue by mistake Tuesday night in search of capital murder suspect Karrie Linnette Glenn.
Glenn, though, lived more than a block away on another street.
This murder could have been prevented IF police would first make sure they had the right address before barging onto peoples private property. There is no excuse for this tragedy, Bear was defending his home as he had every right to do.
