El Diario De los Gatos

We are learning Spanish, El Diario De los Gatos, means the diary of the cats, that's us. We have been getting in all sorts of mischief. First Scylla broke Mommies flower pot when she jumped up on the grill to pester Socks (Scylla thinks she is very clever to have figured out how to get up there). Then Charybdis got in the dryer (I just wanted to see how it worked). Mommy told Charybdis she wouldn't have liked it, if Mommy had turned the dryer on while she was in there. Mommy does some very weird things. Like laundry, she puts dry clothes in something she calls a washing machine, it sounds like an airplane taking off and it has a glass top so we can watch the clothes spin round and round, when she gets the clothes out of there they are wet. Then she puts the wet clothes in the thing she calls a dryer and when she gets them out they are dry. If she wants dry clothes, why does she stick them in the washing machine?

We have been having so much fun. Friday we saw a rainbow. It was really neat, even though it was raining it was sunny out and we were able to stay out on the jungle gym and play.

Saturday was a gorgeous day. The humans went out in the boat. They were very mean, they didn't take us with them. Mommy said she didn't think we would like it because 1.) we would get wet and 2.) we might fall overboard and get eaten by an alligator. Mommy got sunburned. Humans look funny when they turn all red. Mommy said next time she will try to take the camera. She saw lots of pelicans. We would like to see a pelican.

Sunday Daddy took the screens off the windows and fixed them, while Mommy washed the windows and curtains. We were able to jump in and out to our hearts content. They said now that it is fall they will be able to leave the windows open more. A baby Gecko got in the laundry. Daddy caught it for Mommy and put it outside, it was a pretty pink color. We wanted to keep it for a pet, but Mommy said we needed a terrarium for him to live in.

It's really nice outside at our house today so we are going to go hang out in the jungle gym with Socks.

I wish you could have kept the baby Gecko. I'll bet he would make a fun pet. I got my special lizard observation pen from Wal-Mart. But a lizard cannot stay in there very long, it is too small.

Hi Daisy,
Mommy said the Gecko would probably be happier outside and we can look at him through the window. The Geckos like to get in Mommy & Daddy's bedroom window at night. Two of them are very fat, I wonder if they are Baby Gecko's parents. Mommy said we need to read about Geckos, once we learn more about them, we might be able to have one for a pet. But she said we had to know how to take care of it first.

I am sorry your lizard pen isn't big enough for the lizard to stay in it long.
