Whoopi insults southerners on 'The View'

"He's from the South, from the Deep South... . This is part of his cultural upbringing," she said while trying to explain Vick's involvement in dog fighting.

"For a lot of people, dogs are sport. Instead of saying (Vick) is a beast and he's a monster, this is a kid who comes from a culture where this is not questioned," Goldberg said.

I am from the South, Mississippi is about as Deep South as you can get, and believe me dog fighting is NOT part of our culture.

Unfortunately, in attempting to rationalize the behavior of one Southerner, Goldberg irrationally insulted millions of others.
I can't help but wonder, if Whoopi Goldberg was white, would she still have a job after insulting so many people?

Pacelle told Reuters news service that "to suggest that there is some ethnic group, or racial group or regional group that finds this acceptable is just not accurate." He said that public opinion polls show opposition to dog fighting "is a universal value in America."
