Jackson County School District officials say parents should not worry about their children's health, despite rumors that a Vancleave Middle School student may have died of a staph infection.

Margaret Bush, interim superintendent for the school district, said Vancleave Middle School was mourning the death of Shae Kierman, 11, an eighth-grade student who died Friday.
