Karen Jo over at

Here are the rules:

- Open to page 123.
- Find the fifth sentence.
- Post the next three sentences.
- Tag five people and post a comment to Mickey once you have posted it.
The nearest book is
The Chinese In America by Iris Chang. Page 123 ~
More significant, he wrote that in a single year, the number of European immigrants to the United States was than twice the number of Chinese who had entered the country in the previous twenty-five years. The United States also harbored more Europeans at public expense in hospitals, asylums, prisons, and other reform institutions than the average number of immigrants from China within a whole year. The anti-Chinese activists, he argued were "chasing a phantom."
Now we have to tag five people. We are tagging
Daisy,
MoMo,
Tesla,
Charlie, &
Charlotte.

That sounds like an interesting book!
It is, we are using it in our American History class (we are homeschooled). She tells us about what life was like in China and why so many Chinese choose to immigrate to America and then she tells us what life is like in America for them.
Thanks for stopping by Tybalt it is nice hearing from you.
Everybody has such interesting and intellectual books. My Mommie reads a lot, but only fun sorts of books like mysteries and stuff. She just finished Duma Key by Stephen King. Thanks for tagging me! I have been very bad at doing memes lately, but I will try my hardest.
We like fun sorts of books like mysteries and stuff too. They are on Mommy's nightstand. ~The Cats
What wonderful fun!! I can't wait to get to my human's desk!

Oh dear, I was tagged for this as well by Theo and his brothers. Truth is, SS's bookshelves are cramped full of uninteresting books such as Geological Methods of Archaeology where p123 is a protocol for point counting of minerals in thin-sections. Now, in all honesty, you wouldn't want to read about that! I will try and find something a little more interesting.
That is an interesting book. The guy sitting next to me in the Research Centre is doing his PhD on Chinese immigration in colonial Australia and its relationship to the later White Australia Policy.
This book had tons of stuff in it Mommy didn't know, so we are all learning a lot. Mommy said at least we could learn something from Geological Methods of Archaeology, that is if we understood it.
That sounds like a very interesting book. I know very little about the Chinese in America, except a bit about the ones who came over to work on the Transcontinental Railroad and were treated horribly.
That was us Karen Jo, until we read this book. Did you know California used to be swampy? After the railroad was built they helped reclaim the land.
i shall play dis tomorrow i hope! sank yoo!
You are welcome Tesla. ~Socks, S & C
