Special thanks to Sassy for the photographs.
Our adventure began with our friends dropping by to see us. We did lots of fun things while they were here. We spent the morning enjoying the butterfly garden.
(Photo by MoMo) Here Socks is waiting for our friends to arrive.
(Photo by MoMo) Our friends finally arrived and it didn't take long for us to decide it was much to hot to wear clothes. Humans are so silly about wearing clothes all the time, we guess it is because they don't have lovely furrs. We think we got everyone in the photo, it was very difficult as we kitties kept dashing off into the woods to hunt. The doggies seem to have a pretty good time swimming in the pond. Charybdis is still astounded that the dogs leaped into the pond on purpose. She often winds up swimming in the pond but it's because she falls in. Once everyone arrived we decided it was time to eat lunch.
Since it is close to the beach in Biloxi we went to Mary Mahoney's for lunch. This is a very old restaurant, it is even older then Mommy. The house is even older then the restaurant, it was built around 1737. The French architecture of the "Oldest House in Biloxi" is apparent, with high ceilings, hand hewn cypress columns, and slate roof. The house includes old slave quarters, kitchen, and even a cellar. Next to the house is the Patriarch, a live oak tree that dates back over 2,000 years. You can read all about it here.
We ate in the courtyard under the Patriarch Oak.

Then it was time for us to get on the boat, here we are heading out into the Gulf of Mexico.
We are off to see our Florida friends Daisy the Curly Cat, Samantha & Tigger , Debra's kitties (Abby, Boo, Jinx, Ping and Gracie) and Maggy & Zoey at The Zoolatry.
Maggy & Zoey from Zoolatry were on the docks to greet us when we got to Cocoa, Florida. They had prepared some refreshments for us to enjoy. Here we are coming up the Indian River It's quite famous because you can boat all the way from Florida, up the East coast of the US, to the New England area via the IntraCoastal... quite a trip.

That looks like a wonderful adventure you guys!
Charybdis, we hope your tail is healing well - we'll be purring for you!
Pearl, Bert and Jake
Oh, what a perfect day. I loved the picnic in your Butterfly Memorial Garden before the cruise. It was so peaceful there.
Scylla tried hard to net that bird but she never did catch it. I hope the sun and salty air helps her tail to heal.
Oops. Sorry. The sun has gone to my head. I hope the sun and salt air help Charbdis' tail to heal.
Rusty,
JFF
I think this cruise with good friends is just what the doctor ordered. Or at least what she should have ordered. I am sure the sunshine, salty water, and sea breeze or helping me get all well. At least I am feeling so much better. ~Charybdis
PS Everyone thank you so much for purring for me. I just know that is helping me get better too. Cat purrs and doggie licks are the bestest medicine in the world. ~Charybdis
I am going to catch a sea gull before this cruise is over, just you wait and see.
JFF, don't worry about getting me and Charybdis mixed up, everyone does it. Including our very own Mommy & Daddy. It's all Daddy's fault naming us for two monsters that are stuck side by side for eternity.
~Scylla
I am glad everyone enjoyed the butterfly garden. It's a nice place to rest and relax.
Daisy we will be too your house before you know it. ~Socks

Hi efurryone, the Ozzie furries are here. Charlotte has to be a bit quiet today because her mom is at work and can't log in to let her talk much (Monday for us in Oz).
Hi, hi, hi!!!! I'm here!!!!! Hey Charybdis, hope your tail is improving! Scylla let's get up on the top deck and watch for the gulls. What a lovely picnic and lunch! When are we visiting?
We are so sorry to hear about Charybdis's problem with her tail. We are praying that you will be OK with things and you get to keep it.
Sassy, Opus & Roscoe
What a great cruise! What a great time we are having. Again!!! Hahahahaha!
I am so sorry that Scylla did not catch that seagull.... But I heard they do not taste that good anyways.... so the wine and cheese at Maggy and Zoey's is much better!
Karl
We think wine and cheese is much better then seagulls. It was so nice of Maggy and Zoey to provide us with some refreshments.
~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis
Everyone thank you for your well wishes. I am feeling so much better today. I go back to see Dr. Lisa Wednesday, and we do hope the infection will be all gone. ~Charybdis
Thanks for the offer of your mom's leave in conditioner,Scylla & Charybdis, but I'm not sure mancats are supposed to condition their fur, so maybe I better pass.
Wait, on second thought, I'm a long-haired mancat and some conditioner might be just the thing to help get out these damp tangles.
Socks, any time you want to go back to Mary Mahoney's and have some more of that great food, just say the word!
It was great fun. We all sure ate a lot today. Cruising really stimulates the appetite, doesn't it?
Rusty,
JFF
Hello, kitties! You have certainly outdone yourself, Scylla & co. - what an absolutely beautiful post & lovely place!
I really have to hand it to all of you for making such great photos - we look fabulous!
licks & slobbers
-Charlie
Does anybody know how to make a post stick to the top of the blog indefinitely - like the Cat Realm?
It's so nice to see everyone here! It really has made my Monday morning, which has been rather worse than normal for a Monday....ug
I have to go get some coffee for my human - back in a minute
I'm just going to lie down and watch the butteflies - my human has to go do human things, but she'll be back...
Mind if I lay down and watch butterflies with you Charlie? I do believe I am all worn out ~Charybdis
Don't be silly Rusty, mancats can use conditioner. Especially mancats with lovely long fur. You'll never get the tangles out otherwise. Socks is going to use some before we go home and he doesn't even have long hair. ~Scylla
I can't stop thinking about the stuffed lobster on the other paw that shrimp stuff was good and what was that fish stuff with the green stuff in it, oh yeah something Florentine it was good too. Let's teleport back to Mary Mahoney's and get some take out right now Rusty. Anyone have anything special they want us to bring back? ~Socks
Charlie, we do hope everything is OK. Our humans are fixing to head off to bed. While we were off cruising they were planting some new stuff in the butterfly garden. Mommy said she is exhausted. ~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis
You think you can get me a lobster from the lovely restaurant to take home to my mom - it's her birthday today. But she still has to work late:(
Nice to see you all, especailly Socks! SS is working on something for us. You'll see!
I am so sure all of you have a wonderful great trip!
Right, Socks. We can take "doggie bags" home for the siblings. :)
And thanks for the coat conditioner, girls. It really does help. Last time my coat got tangled, it matted and Jan had me shaved.
Rusty,
JFF
I like to get matts behind my ears, but my human keeps trying to brush them out. One time she used a shaver on them, but the shaver couldn't do the job and died!!
Oh Rusty, we are so happy we were able to prevent you getting shaved. You mancats should listen to us girls more often. We know all sorts of tricks for keeping our fur nice and soft. ~Scylla & Charybdis
Charlotte, one stuffed lobster coming up, we also nabbed a piece of key lime pie for your Mom since it's her birthday.
The gang at JFF should be thrilled to see Rusty when he goes home. He has lots of goodies for them to enjoy. Doggies were so clever to think of Doggie bags. ~Socks
MoMo, we can't wait to see what SS has cooked up.
Charlie, we are glad nobody tries to shave us. Oh wait they shaved Charybdis' tail. Mommy took a picture. Wait till you see. Cats look very funny without hair on their tails.
~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis
I can imagine that a cat with a shaved tail might feel somewhat humiliated. Poor Chrybdis!
Oh, your cruise looks like so much fun!
China Cat & I are sending over healing purrs for your tail, Charybdis. We are hoping that the infection will be gone when you go see Dr. Lisa.
Purrrrrrrrrrrs, Willow
This has been so nice - cruising around with friends on a boat! What a lovely time our hostesses have shown us, too!
I must apologise for my human (we animals have to do that a lot, you know - tsk: humans) She is experiencing a much busier Monday morning than anticipated, but she says this cruise has made her day!

Asta
Hi Asta, what is it with humans and water. They were very naughty giving you a bath and taking pictures when you had wet fur. Girls just can't look their best soaking wet. I am not letting my tail get me down, but Mommy is worried cause it is still red around the abscess.
Charlie, you should have seen me when I first woke up and saw my tail. I was like what is that thing and what have you done with my tail? My tail with lovely fur.
Everyone thank you for your purrs, prayers, and healing licks. I am feeling much better. Although Mommy is making me stay inside now that we are back from the cruise.
~Charybdis
