Thursday Thirteen ~ Books

Thirteen Books I read April 1st to June 1st, 2008

  1. Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult - This was a book that required a lot of thinking. (Tags: Death Penalty, Organ Donation, Gnostic Gospel)

  2. Sword Song (The Battle for London) by Bernard Cornwell - Cornwell delivers his usual enjoyable historical fiction. Tons of action and adventure.

  3. Phatom Prey by John Sandford - his usual fast paced thriller. I tumbled to the killer half way through the book, but it was still a good read.

  4. The Darkest Evening of the Year by Dean Koontz - Talk about the exes from hell.

  5. The Bear in the Attic by Patrick F. McManus - Hilariously funny!

  6. Brother Odd - I find Odd Thomas touchingly funny. In the latest sequel Odd is saving "special needs' children from the creation of a mad scientist. His weapons a wry sense of humor, messages from Stormy from the grave and a NSA agent who bakes cakes.

  7. Quicksand by Iris Johansen - some of my favourite characters are in the book. Montalvo and Miguel are in Atlanta to help Eve track down her daughters killer. Megan Blair plays a starring role and we can hope Miguel will receive some 'help' with his hands. He re-injured them playing hero. And Joe will receive an unexpected but hopefully not unwelcome 'gift'.

  8. Compulsion by Jonathan Kellerman - kept me guessing even though Milo meet the killer in Chapter Three.

  9. Irish Rebel by Nora Roberts ~ Hot steamy romance.

  10. City of Night by Dean Koontz ~ I can't wait for book 3.

  11. The Poe Shadow by Matthew Pearl ~ I just couldn't get into this book. Made it to chapter 5 before BOREDOME got the better of me and I tossed it.

  12. Lawless by Nora Roberts ~ A western and a hot steamy romance in one book.

  13. A Wizard in Mind by Christopher Stasheff ~ enjoyable read, suitable for teens.

Everyone in our household loves to read. Mommy says her books often grow legs and walk off right into somebody else's hands. ~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis

My human read Swordsong, too, and says she would be interested to know what you thought of it! As for me, book are great when they smell good and the corners are especially fun to chew!

We sit on books Charlie. Mommy laughs at us and ask if we think we can acquire the knowledge by laying on it. ~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis

Mommy says the older she gets the less reading she gets done. She tends to nod off after a page or two.

I am looking forward to the romantic walks with MoMo. ~Socks
