Doc's dog (Annie) was killed when a hunter came onto her (posted) property Sunday afternoon, and knowingly shot Annie (who was barking and protecting her property) with an arrow, clipping her femoral artery and slicing off her tail.
Despite heroic efforts Annie didn't survive. Doc wrote a very moving tribute to Annie.
I can only hope that the 'hunter' can be found and punished by law enforcement. But I know that nothing can really ease the pain Doc and her family are feeling over the loss of their beloved Annie.

That is a truly horrifying story. I hope whoever killed poor Annie and devastated her family lives with equally horrible guilt.
