Serious Sunday by Socks

We managed to miss Fierce Fighter Day. By the time we found out about it, it was too late for us to participate, so we would like to remember Whiskers today.

Whiskers came to live with our family when the boy beans were very little. He was a true Christmas kitty as Mommy and the beans went adopted him for their Christmas present in December of 1997. He loved Christmas and he loved to lay under the Christmas tree. He was very good and never bothered the ornaments on the tree or the presents underneath it.

He didn't like being an only cat and was constantly adopting pets of his own. He made friends with our neighbors dog and they enjoyed playing together. When Mommy and the beans brought me home from Grandma & Grandpa's house he was very sure I was meant to be "his" cat. He was always good about look out for me and teaching me how to be a mancat.

March 2007 he went to the rainbow bridge. I didn't know what had happened. I knew he didn't feel good and the beans were letting him sleep in their bedroom at night. I saw them take him to the vet, but I didn't understand why they didn't bring him back home. I still don't know why he didn't come home .........Mommy wrote about his last days here, it's to sad for me to think about, I still miss my brother.

We feel very lucky to have gotten to know him and I am very sure he would be happy to know that Mommy & Daddy created the butterfly garden for him. I bet he is laughing at Daddy, every time Mommy makes Daddy move the big rocks or dig a big hole for one of the plants. ~Socks

He must have taught you so much. I bet it was his good influence that you accepted the girls as a gentlemancat. Thank you for telling us about him.

Whiskers was very special. That was a nice post to remember him by, even though it is hard to think about those who have came before.

We bet he has made lots of friends. Mommy thinks he and her doggie Sir Lass are probably special friends and are having a wonderful time together while they wait for her. And we are sure that whenever one of our friends goes to the bridge he is waiting to greet them and show them around. ~S,S & C
