Donna Goss hopes others will come to claim the animals she loves before the breast cancer that has spread to her bones claims her life

Donna Goss lives in Alabama and has been rescuing cats for years. Now she needs help. She has breast cancer and it had spread to her bones before she was diagnosed.

The 49-year-old can no longer handle the daily feeding, cleaning and caring for the 40 or so cats that remain in her home and on her property along Alabama Highway 61.

And she’s hoping that others will come to claim the animals she loves before the breast cancer that has spread to her bones claims her life.

I know Hubby and the boy beans would take care of Socks, Scylla & Charybdis but I worry about what will happen to my parents (feral)cats and dogs. The older of the two dogs I could bring home, but I can't even get near the youngest. He will only let Daddy pet him. And the cats won't let me near them even when I try to bribe them with ham, bacon and eggs. ~Alasandra

That's so sad. It's even happened to one of my mom's friends which is why we have 2 new foster dogs. We can pass the info along to some cat rescues here. Everybody is full to exploding, unfortunately, with rescues. We wish her the best.

Such a sad story, and typical that an animal lover would be more concerned about the well-being of her animals. Mom worries about the same thing, but tries not to think about it. We will purr for Miss Sonna and the remaining cats.

Thanks River, you never know who the person who can help will be so getting the word out to as many people as possible is the only thing I know to do.

Unfortunately with the economy the way it is more cats and dogs are being abandoned everyday.

We are purring too. ~S,S & C

What a wonderful woman and hero to cats Donna is. We hope and purr very hard that someone can take or help place the remaining cats in good homes.

Oh My I will be purring so hard for her little furry babies to all get homes.
Donna is a true kitty person/animal lover.. cares more about her babies than herself, we can understand that too. It is something we always worry about...
