ASPCA OPPOSES MANDATORY SPAY AND NEUTER
We are glad to hear this ASPCA OPPOSES MANDATORY SPAY AND NEUTER. While we think it's a good idea to have your pet spayed or neutered we don't think it should be mandatory. We also think having low cost spay/neuter programs in place will do more to reduce the pet population then making it mandatory would, as the cost is the reason most of the people we know have unspayed/neutered pets.

We think you are right on.
When I lived in Japan, the various wards within Tokyo all subsidised the spaying and neutering of cats, so the operation really was very low cost. Such a great idea!
That is a great idea Tom and Tama-Chan, When we got Fenris his neutering was included in his adoption fee which was only $65 very reasonable.
We paid more to have Scylla, Charybdis (spayed) & Socks (neutered) as our private vet did it. But we thinks it was worth it as her office is close to where we live. ~S,S,C & F
