Thirteen Books I Read Recently

  1. The Story of Son by J. R. Ward - Claire is a successful lawyer, until she goes to meet with one of her most wealthy clients. Who would think the prim and proper Miss. Leeds would have a vampire son, prisoner in her basement or that once a year she drugged young women to provide him with blood. But Claire's determination to rescue the vampire son may be the most surprising thing of all.

  2. Beyond the Night by Susan Squires - Drew Carlowe returns home to take revenge on Sir Elias Melaphont who framed him for a crime he didn't commit in order to keep him away from his daughter. Then he meets the mysterious Freya.

  3. Midnight Kiss Goodbye by Dianna Love - Trey McCree walks away from the love of his life in order to protect her from the supernatural, then the supernatural draws him back into her life and he discovers she may not be as "human" as he thought.

  4. Cursed by Carol Higgins Clark - Regan flies back to Los Angeles to help Abigail track down the no good bum who borrowed $100,000 from her and then broke up with her. While there Regan is attacked by a stalker and discovers that Abigail's friend Lois isn't what she seems.

  5. Just Take My Heart by Mary Higgins Clark - Gregg Aldrich is being framed for the murder of his wife Natalie. Can assistant prosecutor Emily Wallace uncover the truth in time to save her life.

  6. The Independence of Miss Mary Bennet by Colleen McCullough - the story of how Mary free from caring for her Mother finds love at last.

  7. The Song of Troy by Colleen McCullough - I enjoyed it, although I found the narrating back and forth between eight characters a bit annoying.

  8. Antony and Cleopatra by Colleen McCullough - I found it very slow going.

  9. Hunters of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson - Duncan Idaho and Sheeana escape from Chapterhouse on a no-ship. The decide to bring key figures from history back as gholas. They continue to elude the Oracle of Time as well as the mysterious old man and woman. They land on the planet of the Handlers only to discover they are Face Dancers, and barely escape.

  10. Sandworms of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson - The mysterious old man and woman are revealed to be Erasmus and Omnius. The final Kwisatz Haderach is revealed and the war between thinking machines and humans ends.

  11. Phantom in the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon with Dianna Love - Nathan Drake is suppose to be dead, so who is terrorizing a drug lord and his minions.

  12. Paul of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson - it alternates between Paul's childhood and what is happening when he is Emperor.

  13. Swimsuit by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro - a real page turner.
