Not seeing how the stem of the mushroom or toadstool looks like or what it looks like under the cap, my guess is that it could be a Zoned-cap Collybia. They grow on dead wood and range from Quebec to Florida. (According to The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Mushrooms, page 758.) Purrs Sara Cat
We see mostly white ones around here, especially with all the rain we have had. All we know is that they are a big NO NO around here - we are not supposed to eat them.
We are thinking (guessing I guess) it's a toady... a no-eat-tummy-ache toady. Don't kiss it either, you could get those lumpy warty things. Orange, yes. Nice, no.
We likes the name faerie umbrellas, this would make a pretty umbrella for a fairy. Thanks for the info Sara Cat. We thinks eating it would be a BIG mistake. The boy beans used to make ant poison out of it, when they were little. Don't worry they always washed their hands good after handling it and they seemed to be right. It killed the ants. ~S,S,C & F

I do not know the difference, either! I think they are also faerie umbrellas.
