We are joining Confucius Cat in Purrs 4 Peace Week 50: Purring for the Shelter Animals. We are saying extra purrs for the dogs and cats on the Gulf Coast who are being surrendered to shelters because their families can no longer afford to keep them due to the oil spill.
Oil spill hardships forcing owners to give away pets
In an effort to keep animals with their original owners, both Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes will soon be giving away free supplies of pet food, while supplies last.

We will purr extra hard for those unfortunate animals! That oil spill is such a horrible disaster - we hope that a solution can be found soon, so that the recovery can start!
