The Swamp Iris we wants to get some Blue Flags to go with them.
Some weeds Mommy hasn't pulled up yet, they are kinda pretty, maybe she will leave them.
The raised bed around Charybdis' grave. Daddy needs to put some dirts in there. Mommy has the flowers all ready to plant.
This Verbena is around Whiskers' grave.
I am looking out for pest. Something has been eating the leaves on some of our plants.
Didn't it look pretty. Now I has a question for all my gardening friends. See shortly after this picture was taken it came a deluge, flood, moonsoon, too much rain (Mommy says some of you from other parts of the USA aren't aware of the torrential downpours we gets here so I am trying to give you the idea of how much rain we got.) and the verbena all died in this bed. In the bed just above it the verbena is doing fine. Anyway it finally stopped raining and the verbena started to come back out and then we got the HOTS (Mommy says it gets hotter here then in some parts of the USA, just imagine an oven turned way up or a sauna) and the verbena died again (this time probably for good). Anyway does anyone have an idea of something we could plant here that would look good all year? We wants it to look pretty for Whiskers. It needs to grow close to the ground. We have tried planting Herman's Pride since it was doing so well in the flower pot, but it looks as if it is struggling. We are going to give it to the end of June to see if it makes it and possibly thrives, but we would like some ideas in case it doesn't.
This is the Verbena that is still doing good. It even looks good in the winter. Mommy is puzzled why one bed does so good and the other bed doesn't. Mommy had Bugle Weed planted in the Whiskers bed before she tried the Verbena there and it didn't do good there either, but is doing great in the bed it is planted in now.

Wot a wonderful stroll round yoor garden ~ I really enjoyed it. We fink the raised beds for the Bridge-Angels are truly beautiful.
I'm not sure abowt wot plants would grow best in yoor climate ~ but will be interested to hear when yoo have chosed some.

We don't know what kind of plants would be best either--our human isn't very knowledgeable about such things. She just plants perennials that catch her eye and if they don't survive, tries something else!

Being a Northwest kitty, I don't really know much about anything that doesn't grow in my own backyard...or what I learn from my gardencat furriends. Sometimes though...I sit in moms lap and google garden websites that give lists of plants for certain climates. Google is my furriend.
hmm i can not halps you wif your gardening problems... my mommeh has killed every single thing in our garden this year. i do not know WHAT is the matter wif her. so do not feel bad about these things, your garden is realleh amazing anyways! it is so nice how you keeps flowers for your Angels at The Bridge.

Thanks for showing us the garden Artemisia! We wish we could give you some suggestions for flowers, but our mom can't even figure out what to grow at our own house (she doesn't really pay attention to that stuff). And it is weird that the verbena was ok in one spot and yet not the other. Plants really confuse us!
Sorry about the weather! :o( Did you ever consider Tiger Lillies? They take off like banshees. Mom transplanted some and they are thriving! They are very hearty!

We don't know much about perennials but my lazy SS suggests that maybe plants with colourful leaves might look good.

The only thing mom has luck with in the heat is Gerbera Daisies, but they have to be watered and they only bloom in the summer. But, they keep coming back.
It all looks so good! But we are anxious ta see the spot of Charybdis's grave finished soon. We just know it is gonna be bootiful, like her!
