Wot a truly beautiful memorial garden ~ Whiskers must be very loved.
In some old cultures, butterflies symbolize rebirth into a new life ~ and overwhelmingly, cultural myth and lore honour the butterfly as a symbol of transformation because of its impressive process of metamorphosis.
In Greek myth, Psyche (which literally translates to mean “soul”) is represented in the form of a butterfly. Befittingly, Psyche is forever linked with love as she and Eros (the Greek god of love, also known in Roman myth as Cupid) shared an endlessly passionate bond together – both hopelessly in love with the other.
So we think the butterfly memorial is just purrfect for Whiskers, showing the transformation from life to the Bridge ~ and the never ending love yoo all feel for her.
That is OK, Whiskers wouldn't have minded. Mommy called him Papa Cat sometimes because he was always Mothering other animals. When Socks came to live here he was just a baby cat and Whiskers took care of him.
And yes he is very LOVED. Thanks for telling us that Psyche is represented as a Butterfly, we didn't know that.

Well, we were going to say that those flowers looked delicious, but since they are in a lovely memorial butterfly garden for Whiskers - We will just say that they are a perfect tribute to a kitty at the bridge.
