Well March 1 was really nice Mommy did some much needed gardening. The flower beds around the Hummingbird Cottage were weeded, ant poison was put out and Mommy planted some stuff. She planted one of the Gold Flame Honeysuckle Vines she rooted in this bed.
We also admired the wildflowers that are springing up all over the place. These delicate blue ones are one of our favorites.
We are happy to report that it looks as if the Clematis will come back. The Candy Corn Cuphea is also returning, one of the Butterfly Weed is coming up but the other one seems to be dead.
We planted this Mum next to it, so hopefully it will be encouraged to come back.
The Carolina Jessamine is doing well. I likes to keep a close eye on it.
The Johnny Jump up is nice and cheerful. This bed was full of ants so we had trouble weeding it. But the May Pops are returning and we has a Chocolate Vine on order for the bed. It is an evergreen so we are really looking forward to having it.
The Azaleas are blooming down at the Whiskers Memorial Butterfly Garden.
The White Verbena is coming up around Whiskers' grave.
And our delicate little Scilla, aka the Blue French Roman Hyacinth.
Now I am off to Jonesie's to make my report to the Society of Feline Gardeners. ~Artemisia
PS: The Real Housecats were sighted at a local fish market, you might want to check out what we have been up too.
