Well we wishes we could say I am in the pink of heath but I am not. I was diagnosed with Feline Lekumia in my bone marrow.
For now the antibiotics and steroids seem to have it under control.
Tuiren let me borrow her pink T-shirt. It is way to big for me, but it is the thought that counts.
She wanted me to know she loves me and is pawing for me to get better.
At the moment we are trying to control my hyperthyroidism with
Hills y/d diet, since I can't take the medication anymore. So far I have been eating the food, it is OK, I don't really love it but I will eat it. We are not sure how well this diet will work for me. It's success depends on me not eating anything other then this food ever, and I don't like it that much. Eventually I may have to have
Radioactive
iodine therapy.
I wants to thank those that have donated toward my vet bills, we really appreciate it. And I wants to thank everyone that is purring, praying, sending good wishes, crossing paws and sending pawsitive thoughts. They mean a lot to us and I just know they are helping me get better. Socks, see if your mom will contact Cheri over at Cats of the Wildcat Woods. At least one of her cats was/is hyper-t and she managed it via homeopathic means--not that that can cure it, but to support the organs (heart, etc) because hyper-t puts so much strain on them. The I-131 can be done if your kidneys are working okay.

Socks eating one thing all of the time is frustrating but you will get used to it. I am only allowed to eat one thing to (Royal Canin Veterinary Formula Rabbit)...because of allergies.
Are you allowed to have Coconut oil? It is tasty and super good for cats and it helps their immune system. If you are allowed to eat it, have your Mommy put a 1/4 tsp per 10 lbs of weight in your kibble ONCE a day. Tell her she can google the benefits of Coconut Oil for cats. It might help in more ways than you think and it is NATURAL!

Socks Mom knows from her experience with Abby that the Hyper-T can place great strain on the Heart so please follow your diet to the "t"! Cheri at the Cats of the Wildwoods has some excellent advise and we hope it will help you as she tried to help us when Abby was so sick. WE are all purring very hard for you. We wish we could help out with your Vet $$$ but we are still trying to figure ours out for Abby.

Socks, we are so very sorry that you are now FeLV+ in your bone marrow. Mom says that the only thing you can do for it is take the antibiotics and steroids. Have your Mom ask your vet if you can have L-lysine. Our vet recommended it to help keep the FeLV virus in check. We are all purring for you to keep as healthy as possible.
