Saturday Sharing

Those of you who are friends with us on Facebook know that Mommy & Daddy spent their anniversary in San Diego. They did not take us with them.

One of the places they went was Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, in Julian California. They climbed Stonewall Peak.

There were lots of pretty wildflowers to see.

And the views were magnificent.

Daddy is in better shape then Mommy, he had to wait on her to catch her breath a lot. Apparently we need to work her harder.

Cuyamaca Lake looked really small when you were high up on the mountain.

Scarlet Bugler
Mommy wishes she could have brought these wildflowers home. Does anyone know their name? (Thanks for the ID Terri and Katnip Lounge)

Mommy really liked this one too.

Amazingly enough Mommy did make it to the top.

Did we tell you she is afraid of heights.

Daddy loves it up here.

Mommy though it was funny she was higher then the bird.

This is suppose to be a WATERFALL!!!!!!! It is really dry and the Sweetwater River is way down. There was only a small trickle of water.

Although there were some desperate souls wading in the shallow pools.

Julian is a very pretty place, Mommy & Daddy stopped and got Apple Boysenberry Pie in town, before heading back to San Diego.

Mommy took this picture from their balcony. ~ATCAD

Those flowers are nice, but they don't compare to the ones in your very own yard. Your mom looks like she's holding on tight up there. I could tell she doesn't like heights!

Love and licks,
Cupcake

What a beautiful place for a hike.

The red flowers look like they could be scarlet bugler, which is in the penstemon family.

I agree with Terri, it looks like penstemmon to me, too! Scott and I will have to get out there to visit, it looks LOVELY.

We think you are lucky not to have brought along! Those hills look like too-long walkies.
