Wildlife Wednesday with Socks

Well we are still in shock here but the Mom did manage to get some decent pictures of the Hummingbird that lives down at the Hummingbird Cottage.

She had to move the Hummingbird feeders because a Praying Mantis was hanging out on the underside of one.

What is wrong with that you ask? Well they EAT HUMMINGBIRDS!!!!!!!!

So Mommy hung the feeder in a new spot since she didn't know about their dietary habits when she took the feeder down and let the Praying Mantis go.

It is easier for Mommy to reach too, so now she doesn't have an excuse not to keep it filled up for the Hummers.

I likes watching the Hummingbirds but I don't bother them.

In fact my best advice to all you kittens out there is to avoid BIRDS. People usually likes them and get upsets if you bother them, and birds are very vicious critters that will harass you to death, so while they are fun to watch they are better left alone. ~Socks, wildlife reporter for ATCAD

Sounds like very good advice, Socks! Although I do like watching Bird TV lots. I had NO idea praying mantises ate hummingbirds - wow!

I agree with that advice, Socks. Sometimes when I want to bother the geese, Mom says I am so tiny they will peck my face off. I believe her. The geese in my field are big and fat and nasty.

Wise words, Socks! Catching birds gives kitties a bad rap. It's better they leave the birdies alone ;-)

We wish we had some bird feeders in front of our window so we could watch them.

I wish we had hummers here so I could watch them. Your mum was so good to move the feeders to safety and you are good not to bother the birds too.

All our hummers are gone now. Maybe they headed to your house!

All of our hummingbirds have flown south for the winter. Maybe they're visiting you now! :)

Our hummingbirds have flown south. Maybe that one was at our home this summer?
