Mancat Monday

Somebody asked if Scylla is the main garden helper, the fact is we all lend a paw. While Scylla lays in the flower beds and talks to the plants, they really likes that. I roam the yard looking for problems. I tell Mommy about fire ant beds so hopefully she will not get bitten.

I tell her when the plants need watering.

Mommy did good with the Victoria Blue Salvia, we are very pleased with it. It stayed green all winter, got bigger and.........................

is now blooming profusely.

OK, keep up we has a lot of ground to cover.

The is the Lily of the Nile, ours is purple. They comes in different colors. Mommy saw some white and pink ones at the University of South Alabama, when she went to cousin Gabe's graduation.

Now we will head down to the Hummingbird Cottage.

The white roses were the first to bloom this year.

Followed by the Sniffie Rose. In front of it we have the Cubby and Clifford Firecracker Cuphea and the Tamir Candy Corn Cuphea. They are all blooming now.

The Goldflame Honeysuckle and Mexican Sage.

The Bane of Scylla Rose, actually Scylla and the rose made up but we still think it was rude to attack Scylla's tail.

The Seven Sisters Rose, maybe if you biggify it you can see the white roses have pink spots, on some of the blooms.

We thinks the Whirling Butterflies look purrfect with the roses.

The Coral Honeysuckle which is a native to Mississippi.

Daddy is weedeating so we needs to hurry up. I don't like it out here when he cuts the grass.

The Trailing Princess is doing well in the hanging basket.

Mommy FINALLY got this bed weeded, it looks nice and neat now.

The Coral Bean it is a native plant that we got from the Pascagoula River Audubon Center, we were pleased to see they had some at the Herb and Garden Fest this year.

It is going to have lots of blooms on it this year.

Daddy knocked a lot of blooms off when he was weed eating and he accidentally cut the Lily of the Nile Bloom off. It made me sad.

If you wonder what the doggies do to help. Fenris is in charge of helping Mommy pull the garden wagon and Tuiren is in charge of varmint control.

Well, it's no wonder your garden is so gorgeous! Your mom has all the help she needs to care for it. Not counting your dad, since some of his work is destructive.... :)

Love and licks,
Cupcake

MOL, yes Daddy is more destructive than us cats and doggies. Who knew it would be a purrson that got in the doghouse for destroying a plant. ~Socks

Everything is beautiful, I love the color of the blue salvia. If you were in Cat Scouts, you could easily get your Botany badge.

Good job helping your pawrents with the gardening! The yard looks gorgeous :)

We're sad to hear the Lily of the Nile lost its bloom stem. When I was a kid I used to trim all that nuisance grass with clippers! We didn't have nearly as much to trim in our yard, though ;-)

A real family affair - that's the way your garden stays so beautiful. We love how you named the flowers for some of our good furiends. We hope the Bane of Scylla behaves this year.

Happy Memorial Day!
