Tuiren Woofs "Xylitol in peanut butter might KILL your dogs?"
We had no idea that PEANUT BUTTER COULD BE FATAL TO US! Me and Fenris were bummed to discover that not all human peanut butter is safe for us doggies to eat. Xylitol is used as a sugar substitute in human foods, including peanut butter. To dogs, Xylitol is extremely dangerous. Tiny amounts of the sweetener
can cause a dangerous drop in blood sugar and can lead to liver failure.

Thanks for this impawtant information, Tuiren!
This is a great post Tui. We made sure our mom signed both petitions.
As a side note, some of us humans have digestive systems that don't like Xylitol!
What a stupid thing to put in peanut butter! :-( The humans here only eat the natural, just peanuts and maybe some salt kind, and when the dog was alive, she enjoyed a little now and then.
We know how deadly xylitol can be to dogs, but we had no idea it is in some PB. We are going to tell Mom to check what's in the cupboard for sure.

Thanks for sharing that impawtant information ! Purrs
For various reasons related to diet, labels are always read before they are purchased, and xylitol is not allowed to get into our den at all!
We found it in a doggy tooth-liquid once, OMD:((
Thanks for the heads up, T. Good info to know.
Love and licks,

Mommy said she would be very hesitant to ingest it herself, and that people should be informed about such stuff. (Sigh) we know it is listed in the ingredients, but our Mommy has trouble reading that tiny print. Either they should require the ingredients be listed in LARGE PRINT or they should have warning labels for junk like Xylitol. Thanks for the heads up about the digestive upset in humans.
