Weird Wednesday

When mom was weeding around the azaleas she came across these weird things.

She told us she thought they were walking sticks, but we are sure she is WRONG, they don't look anything like the walking sticks our Grandparents carry. ~ATCAD

Wow, they look like a type of locust or grasshopper, but certainly not like the walking sticks, haha. They must be munching on something....VERY interesting insect. Mama has never seen anything like that in her garden. And mantids are very different.

Your mom may be right about these too. I think she is.

Have a fabulous Wednesday. ♥

Thank goodness those creepy crawlers are at your house and not here. Your mama is smart. And reasonable. My mom would've burned the house down and moved. ADVICE: Don't eat them.

Love and licks,
Cupcake

This blogger of "Chosen Perspectives" raises these weird (to me) bugs as a hobby and I bet she would know what your creatures are. She first saw them on a David Attenborough documentary and got fascinated with them. They are Giant Spiny Leaf Bugs and there is a link to another video about them.

Mom may be right, but they're a different kind of walking stick!

Your artwork, as always, is wonderful, and those weird things at the end certainly are, well, weird!
