That is sad as it is a very pretty butterfly.

Once they are born they are beautiful but their lives are so short. Such is the wonder of nature
Some sort of swallowtail, but I'm no expert.
I recall crying when I discovered a dead monarch butterfly in the grill of our car after a return home from vacation. Was a child then, but the sentiment is the same now.
What a pretty butterfly. Sadly some don't live very long.
That is sad.
