Friday Flowers (March)

Mom repotted some plants. The Angel Wing Begonia is really thriving in it's new home.

Daddy brought the tall thing and the vine thing home Mom doesn't know what they are but she combined them with her Peace Lilly.

Poke Weed, Mom says we may be eating this if the economy doesn't improve.

And our Foxgloves.

In case you didn't know Mom has a thing for Foxgloves.

PeeS: We are very sad that the LLB Gang is one of the blogs we can't comment on. We hope they don't mind we joined their blog hop even though we couldn't comment on their blog. It was good to see you Rosie.

Those are all such beautiful flowers. We've never heard of Angel Wing Begonia, but we can see where they get their name from.

Those are pretty flowers.

I thought pokeweed was toxic?? It grows into huge plants here, and it is thought to be almost an invasive weed.

That is a beautiful foxglove.

Pokeweed can only be eaten safely at certain times (we think early Spring) and only certain parts of the plant can be eaten. You have to know what you are doing when harvesting, preparing (we heard you have to wash it like a zillion times) cooking and eating Pokeweed. Mom says she would eat it (her Grandma Agnes used to) but only if her friend Mark prepared it as she knows he knows what he is doing and it would be safe to eat.
