Van Gogh spent time in Japan and the art he did there is amazing. It is actually some of my favorite of his works as there were a lot of floral pieces.
But the irises were my favorite hands down. They covered an entire room with his work. There was one with butterflies that was awesome. I felt as if I was surrounded by them.
You really felt as if you were inside the canvas.
Yes, it was even on the floor.
I really wish I had taken an art history class when I was in college.
The movement and colors were brilliant.
At the end you had a chance to color your own masterpiece and hang it on the wall.

OMC!!!! To be awash in irises....mama says it was a dreamy room you were in. So lucky to have seen that show. Maybe it will come to Rome when we are there visiting family.
