Mancat Monday by Socks ~Doing my civic duty

This is so unmanly, but Mom says I have to do it (grump) This lovely purse with all the cute paw prints comes from The Animal Rescue Site. You can help feed cats and dogs by buying stuff from them. Mommy really likes her purse and she has gotten lots of compliments on it. She says it goes with lots of things cause it has so many colors on it (I'll take her word for it).

The other PSA, I don't mind. Mommy says we should let you know that cats can get heart worms and that you can give us Heartgard to prevent it. All I know is it taste good and I look forward to getting it once a month. Wish all the medicine the beans have forced on me tasted as good.

Now that I have done my civic duty I am going hunting to redeem my manly honor. Honestly I don't know why she didn't make one of the girls do the purse thing, it's so not me. ~Socks

Dog falsely imprisoned over erroneous ID

We found this by way of Jan's Funny Farm.

Yesterday we learned of two dogs who were killed by the police, today we learn of a dog who has been falsely imprisoned. People we need LAWS that will prevent the wanton killing of our pets and false imprisonment. No one should have to live in fear that their pet will be killed or taken away by the police (Humane Society).

We had a visit from the Humane Society today. They said some people down the street reported our black Lab, Cheyenne, as having attacked and killed their cat, and bit the owner when she tried to pull the cat away. People, I swear on my children that it was NOT Cheyenne. She is NEVER out of the house or the back yard; she was ABSOLUTELY, BEYOND ANY DOUBT in my bedroom sleeping with ME at 5:00 freaking A.M.!!

I don’t know what to do. They took her away! They took my precious girl away, and all because that person said yeah, that’s the dog. NO! IT ISN’T!

I am in Desperate Need of Expert Advice on How to Fight an Erroneous I.D.

We are happy to report that Cheyenne is home for now, but she is still facing charges. She’s Back Where She Belongs!

Dark ~ Photo Hunt

This flower has a DARK brown center.

Flowers on Friday by Scylla

This is a Plumeria. Mommy got it when she was in Oahu (May 2005). This is the first time it has bloomed so Mommy was very excited. We were even happier that it bloomed this year cause we were able to share the Plumeria with our friends at our NOMS Party.

Isn't this flower a pretty blue. It is a Wishbone flower. We have no idea where it came from. It is a volunteer. Mommy hopes more volunteer as she likes it a lot.

Our Azaleas are blooming. Mommy can't get used to having Azaleas that bloom all the time. She gets all excited when they bloom.

The Mexican Petunias are very happy. A hummingbird was visiting them the other day.

Laws must be created to keep police from killing dogs

Mayor Cheye Calvo got home from work, saw a package addressed to his wife on the front porch and brought it inside, putting it on a table.

Suddenly, police with guns drawn kicked in the door and stormed in, shooting to death the couple's two dogs and seizing the unopened package.

Calvo insisted the couple's two black Labradors were gentle creatures and said police apparently killed them "for sport," gunning down one of them as it was running away.

"Our dogs were our children," said the 37-year-old Calvo. "They were the reason we bought this house because it had a big yard for them to run in."

The mayor, who was changing his clothes when police burst in, also complained that he was handcuffed in his boxer shorts for about two hours along with his mother-in-law, and said the officers didn't believe him when he told them he was the mayor. No charges were brought against Calvo or his wife, who came home in the middle of the raid.

Prince George's County Police Chief Melvin High said Wednesday that Calvo and his family were "most likely ... innocent victims," but he would not rule out their involvement, and he defended the way the raid was conducted. He and other officials did not apologize for killing the dogs, saying the officers felt threatened.

We are very scared to think that police could burst into our home and kill a beloved pet. Something similar happened close to where we live Police Murder Dog in Owner's Yard Due to Wrong Address . Somehow pets must be protected from the police. The most outrageous thing of all is in both these instances the owners were innocent of wrong doing. The police must be held accountable for these murders.
