Thirteen Things about Thomas "Stonewall"Jackson

1. Thomas Jonathan Jackson was born on January 21, 1824, in Clarksburg, Virginia (My children are named after him. Thomas is Lord Epa's middle name & Shining Celibi's first name is Jonathan).
2. Jackson graduated from West Point in 1846
3. He taught Philospy at the Virginia military institute.
4. In the first battle of Bull Run General Bernard Bee dubbed Jackson and his brigade Stonewall for holding back Union forces.
5. He thought God's hand would guide the south to victory.
6. He prayed before every battle.
7. He sucked on lemons to ward off scurvy.
8. Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson often went about camp handing out Sunday school leaflets.
9. General Stonewall Jackson walked around with his right hand in the air to balance the blood flow in his body.
10. He also never ate food that tasted good, because he assumed that anything that tasted good was completely unhealthy.
11. Stonewall was the only Confederate brigade (1st Brigade) to have its nickname become its official designation.
12. At Chancellorsville on May 2, 1863 Jackson was accidentally shot by his own men.
13. Stonewall Jackson is buried in Lexington Virginia.
