We had company for Easter ~ by Socks (Mancat Monday)

(all photo's by MoMo) My darling MoMo has come to spend Easter with me. Since her cousin Charlotte and young Tesla have been very bored at home, she brought them along to play with Scylla & Charybdis. While Scylla & Charybdis were setting up the lovely picnic MoMo packed for us to enjoy I showed our visitors the solar fountain. The black thing in the picture captures the sun's rays and converts them to energy. This allows the pump to suck up water to the top of the fountain where it then trickles back down. It makes a lovely sound.

l. to r. Scylla looking up at the butterflies, Charybdis, Momo on the bench, Socks curling up to nap underneath, Tesla sitting on the rock, Charlotte beside the bush, all with our favourite drinks.

After our picnic it was time for a cat nap. MoMo choose the butterfly bench as her bed. I prefer the warm stones.

l. to r. Charybdis at the far left corner, Charlotte and Momo at the left lower corner and Tesla peering out from the large pot on the patio.

Charybdis was thrilled to be able to show our visitors baby goslings. They just hatched today. Mommy warned us that the geese could be very vicious so we took the precaution of keeping our distance. Tesla was very clever she hid in a flower pot.

Scylla & Charybdis took Charlotte and Tesla to the family room to show then the photos of Ireland, the stuff they got in Munich, and gossip (about according to Scylla top secret stuff that they can't possibly reveal to a guy). MoMo and and I took this opportunity to spend some time alone on the rock pile.

Daddy took the boat out for a spin and we tagged along. We saw Cat Island, it doesn't have any cats on it though. Cat Island is a barrier island off the Mississippi coast. The island is named for raccoons that early explorers mistook for cats (those explores must have been awful nearsighted raccoons don't look like cats to us).

Do you think these raccoons look like cats?

The island has a unique "T-shape" created by the colliding currents of the Gulf of Mexico. Its marshes and beaches provide a refuge for alligators and migratory birds. During WWII the island was a base for training army dogs. It used to be privately owned but now at least part of it, is part of Gulf Island National Seashore.

Since Tesla is recuperating and her Mommy was anxious about her since this was her first ever long trip away from home our visitors had to leave, I do wish they could have stayed longer.

Before they arrived we sent a small surprise to them.. Easter baskets full of flowers from our greenhouse.

This one is for Tesla

This one is for Charlotte

And this one is for MoMo

Mommy & Daddy were very touched by the Easter Basket MoMo packed for us. It has delicious treats for humans and kitties. Mommy is already in love with the cute bunny rabbit doll. He has been named Happy Hoppy in memory of the rabbit Mommy got when she was four.

The Easter Basket Charlotte brought us is too cute for words. Scylla is thinking that once we devour the treats the basket might make a good spot to hide and take a nap.
