Thursday Thirteen ~ Books

Books I read June 1st to July 10th

  1. A Wizard in Bedlam by Christopher Stasheff ~ This is the second in the Rogue Wizard series. This time Gar seems to be in over his hand, but everything works out in the end. And this time he takes a friend with him when he leaves the planet.
  2. Tom Clancy's EndWar written by David Michaels - I couldn't get into it.
  3. Odd Hours by Dean Koontz - The oddest Odd book yet. Odd is tasked with saving the world from nuclear destruction with the help of Frank Sinatra and Boo. Perhaps the oddest character in the book is Annamaria (no last name) a mysterious young pregnant woman who seems to need Odd's help. I hope the next Odd book explains more about the mystery woman.
  4. Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson ~ This is so sweet and romantic.
  5. The Final Warning ~ Maximum Ride by James Patterson ~ Suitable for Teens. Strong female character for those who care about such things. In this adventure Max and the other bird kids try to help scientist in Antarctica learn more about global warning. Unfortunately the Uber Director has other plans for them.
  6. A Wizard in War by Christopher Stasheff ~ Dirk and Gar land on a planet racked by warfare between the Lords and each other and the Lords and the King. Can they bring Peace to the war torn land?
  7. A Wizard in Peace by Christopher Stasheff ~ Can Gar and Dirk overthrow the Protector with the help of mentally ill peasants suffering from delusions of granduer?
  8. A Wizard in Chaos by Christopher Stasheff ~ Can Gar and Dirk convince the Fair Folk to come out from the Hollow Hills and maintain peace between the bullies? And will Gar leave his friend behind?
  9. A Wizard in Midgard by Christopher Stasheff ~ Can Gar bring peace to the giants, dwarfs, and normal size people? Especially when the normal size people are so intolerant of anyone shorter or taller then they are? And has Gar meet his match in the taller then average Alea?
  10. A Wizard and A Warlord by Christopher Stasheff ~Gar finds a planet that doesn't need his help, even though it doesn't have a government. Alea's psychic abilities are growing. I wonder how long it will be before they realize how they truly feel about each other. It'll be awhile before I am able to read the next book in the series (A Wizard in the Way) as my library doesn't have it. Hopefully they will be able to do an Interlibrary Loan for me.
  11. Sail by James Patterson and Howard Roughan ~ You really shouldn't kill off the only decent guy in the book.
  12. 7th Heaven by James Patterson ~ The former governor's son, Michael Campion has a non-curable heart defect so when he mysteriously disappears foul play is suspected? But could he have disappeared of his own free will? Did the prostitute Junie Moon dispose of his body after he died in her arms? Can Lindsay find out? More troublesome someone is burning rich couples alive, will Lindsay be able to stop them. (Women's Murder Club series)
  13. (My ILL book came in) A Wizard in the Way by Christopher Stasheff ~ Gar & Herkimer are falling down on the job, they have a stowaway and don't even know it. Alea keeps forgetting about her but continues to act on her suggestions. This planet really needs their help as tyrannical wizards are keeping the serfs miserable.
