How we help dogs and cats find homes by Fenris

Riley is hosting a  FROSTY PAWS GIVEAWAY for National Adopt A Shelter Dog Month!

Well as most of you know I was adopted from the Bay St. Louis/Waveland Animal Shelter when I was just a puppy. So this is a cause dear to my heart. A lot of people want to know what breed I am, well we don't know I am a MUTT. Someone found me and my littermates in the woods, so zip is known about my parentage.

Some of the stuffs we has been doing to help cats and dogs find homes.

"American Pickers" Plus Cats & Dogs for Adoption - Besides blogging about it Mommy and her friend that she walks with went to help out the Friends of the Jackson County Animal Shelter. They walked doggies around so that people could meet them. Mommy had lots of fun doing it and made lots of doggy friends.

We also took some old towels to the Jackson County Animal Shelter. Our shelter has a list of things they need. So next time you are cleaning out your closets we suggest you look to see if your local shelter has a list of things they need. Maybe something you are ready to dispose of is something they could use.

Mommy also went to a  meeting about the Animal Shelter. She said it was important to go to show her support for the Animal Shelter, to offer ideas, and to see what was being done to address issues. Mommy says that the staff at the animal shelter try very hard to do their jobs professionally and to care for the animals in their care. She says they have been very sweet about trying to help us find Arty.

Mommy didn't get to go to the Howling Good Time fund raiser but she did help provide names of people for them to invite and she blogged about it. It was a big success.

We often post Public Service Announcements (PSA) on our blog in an effort to help cats and dogs find homes.

We hopes we have given you some ideas how you can help. ~Fenris

Fenris, I'm quite sure you have some Saint Bernard in you. I'd also bet those blue eyes came from some Husky genes :)

Shelters keep a list of items they need. Money and volunteers are always welcome, though!
