Hummingbird Cottage & Heartworms #AtoZChallenge

OK, we are walking to the Hummingbird Cottage, keep up. You don't want a bird to get you.

I love it down at the Hummingbird Cottage there is so much to explore.

The front flowerbed is OK, you find lots of acorns in it.

But the Hummingbird Cottage has vines to climb,

Bees to chase.

Outdoors has tons of things to do.

And I wants to do them all.

Daffodils are purrty flowers.

Mommy wanted me to model in front of them.

But I refused to look at the camera.

And I walked right out of the picture.

Mommy said Yinny is a better model.

Do you think I care?

We wanted to mention another word that starts with the letter H, Heartworms. This is a very scary word.

You may not know but my sister Tuiren had Heartworms when she came to live with us. She tells about her experience here.

There are Heartworm preventives for both doggies and cats and I sincerely hope that you give your dog or cat one every month. Currently there is no treatment for cats if they get Heartworms.

Heartworms are not common out here where we live, but my human does worry. If they start showing up more here, I'll definitely be taking meds, since I'm the only kitty here that goes outside often.

So cute! Not a good posed but when you're pretty like that, you don't have to be! 😉

What a fun adventure that was, Chimera. Also, you're so stinkin' cute! And what a great and very important reminder about heartworm.

Watch out for mosquitoes, that is how they are transmitted. Even kitties they stay inside all the time are at risk if a nasty mosquitoe gets in the house.

I'm more fond of dogs than cats but watch what the cats get up to in our garden unless they are stalking birds. Love the Beagle in your header photos.

That is a great place to explore. We only have to take heart worm 6 months of the year because of our climate. We have this years already, waiting for June 1st to roll around.

Chimera you sure were having fun exploring the hummingbird cottage. We take heartworm preventative year round even though there aren't any mosquitoes during the winter here.

Just remember, Chimera, those daffodils will make you sick if you eat them.

Chimera, you look very cute exploring outside. One of the many reasons we aren't allowed outdoors is because of heartworm.

Oh, that kitty. If there were a fan club, I would be in it, even though I never had one myself. Still, a spring walk with the darling really was lovely.

Heartworms are very scary, where we live, any dog not on preventative will probably get it.

Meowmy lost a kitty to heartworm years ago...so now we always get that medicine the year round, cause sometimes we even see a mosquito in the house in winter.

Chimera you take the cake on cuteness!

Hi, I'm visiting from the A to Z Challenge! Your blog is lovely. I was a veterinary technician for over 15 years so I appreciate your mention of heartworms. Not enough pet owners take it seriously, particularly cat owners! Thanks!
