Thankful Thursday

Mommy sure does get a lot of pictures of us sitting in windows doesn't she? This is our  (Yin and Chimera's) favorite spot most days.

So today we are thankful for windows we can sit in.

We are also very thankful for heartworm preventives for dogs and cats, please make sure your dog or cat is on a preventive even if they are inside only pets. Mosquitoes can get in your house.

For those of you who are new to our blog our doggie sister Tuiren had heartworms when she came to live with us. Tuiren wrote this awesome post about the issue that you can read by clicking here. We are very thankful that there is a treatment for doggies, there isn't one for cats, and that Tuiren survived it.  ~Yin and Chimera reporting for ATCAD

Tuiren is so lucky to be a heartworm survivor! I didn't know these parasites have been found in all 50 states.

We lost a kitty here to heartworm. all our kitties are inside kitties, and when one ran out the door cause his toddler unfurbro help it open...he got a bite and it only needs one...sigh...he was such a good mancat...and petcretary still misses him. He was her first kitty that she raised from a kitten as the first kitty in this den was 7 years old when he got here.
All our furs take heartworm medicine all the year round...sometimes in the middle of the winter we might still se a mosquito in thehouse. Yikes:(

Hooray fur Tuiren to have gotten through her ordeal.

Window sitting is a hobby here too...

We are so sorry about your kitty. You are so right it just takes one bite from a mosquito. And apparently mosquitoes are really tough critters cause we see them all year here too. Even when we have a cold winter now that we have a greenhouse they thrive in there.

Those windows are a great place to hang out and watch the birdies. Thanks for the Barkday wishes for Millie. The granite counters won't' be installed for a couple of weeks but they should be more durable than almost any other surface you can get for a kitchen.

For humans, there's nothing like watching a kitty, who is watching Bird or Squirrel TV! Every time I watch an episode of "Pitbulls and Parolees", they talk about heartworm in dogs...it's scary.

Good for Tuiren ! POTP.

The pictures of Yin & Chimera look almost like paintings, without photoshop or any special effects. The wall color and the curtains, and the blues of the scene outside the window just set off the two kitties.

Windows truly are wonderful things for cats. I'm in the midst of knitting some sill cozies, so Fergus and Maggie can sill sit in comfort. The things we do for our pets, right?
