Humans have no idea how a cat fits into a bed, or box, or the cubby-hole where they store the old newspapers!
I think you should issue demerits to the Mom for being rude. Might I suggest 10 lashes with a over cooked spaghetti noodle? That is how I handle bad behavior here.
