Mancat Memories Monday with Angel Socks

Socks was born in August 2000 at my Mom & Dad's, he would have been 17 this August. We had planned to have a birthday bash to celebrate his 17th birthday, but alas our sweet boy couldn't wait and went to the rainbow bridge in March. He picture will be back in the header for August and he will be featured in every Saturday's Caturday Art thorough the month of August. Socks enjoyed being outdoors and went out every day.

Bathing in the sun seemed to be a particular pleasure and he was always happy to see his pal Fenris.

Fenris came to live with us as a puppy for those of you new to the blog and Socks made sure Fenris understood the power of the paw and who was boss from the start.

Fenris always respected Socks' boundaries and you would often see them sitting near each other. Especially when Socks didn't want to be pestered by Scylla.

Yang also kept an eye on him when he was outside. Surprisingly Yang was always very gentle with Socks. Socks was a good mentor to the kittens and taught them well. It was always cute to see Chimera, Yin and Yang sitting in a semi circle around Socks while he showed them things.

Socks and Tuiren often shared a sun puddle. Socks was the first of the fur kids to welcome Tuiren to our family.

They always seemed to get along well.

Shy and gentle Socks was a great favorite at the veterinarian's.

I am still not used to him being gone. For such a little thing he left a huge hole in our hearts.

Dear Friends made these pictures for us after Socks left.

Socks had a lot of fun in Cat Scouts and is glad that Chimera joined and is representing ATCAD there now. ~Alasandra

Socks really did leave a big empty space when he left.

It can take a long, long time to get used to the absence of a loved one. There's no such thing as "getting over" a loss, they stay in our hearts and minds, always. Hugs.

Angel Socks kept everyone in line! Is it chaos now? Am so sorry that his soul had to fly to heaven too soon. Hugs and purrs
